Snow Day

It snowed again.  A soft, quiet snow that began right before sun was setting and promised to continue for the entire morning accumulating to about 3-4 inches. Enough to be either pretty or frustrating, depending on your viewpoint.  When I logged on facebook I saw all kinds of reactions about the snow.  I could see tribulation about it, while others were enjoying watching it fall.  It was the same snow to each of us, yet it offered such a wide range of response.

I for myself enjoyed this meticulous snow fall. Primarily because I had no cause to go out in it.  I sat in my room checking emails, sipping hot tea and writing for a while the my roomates were gossiping in the living room.  I fell into a spell watching the snow fall, blanketing the landscape with wholesomeness. How unlike I may have felt had I been outside, cold and wet, slipping on the streets!

A New Beginning

New Year's Eve has always been a time for looking back to the past, and more decisively, forward to the coming year. It's a time to reflect on the changes we want to make and resolve to follow through on those changes.

The first day of a new year is like standing at one end of a river that you wish to cross. But, you cannot see to the other side and you have no idea where that river would end. And so you travel forward, setting a clear objective that you want the experience of moving across to be a pleasant one. You think of that it is the journey and not the end that actually matters and you begin to enjoy the gentle wind upon your face and the sweet sounds of the birds flying above and the water flowing below. Our expedition through life is very much like this. We have no clue where it will take us sometimes but we just need to keep walking because that is the vital thing.

And so as I woke up, I felt like, sharing my thought about the start of a New Year. I hope you enjoy it and that you have a beautiful day and a spectacular New Year.
